Junior High School, Done! Senior High School, Hello!

I have been counting down the days since the beginning of our Junior High School year. I could still remember, it seems like just yesterday that I was a scared little freshmen wandering these buildings and halls of Ilocos Sur National High School. And now, I am walking through the same halls wondering where the time has gone. We have spent four years together and that still doesn’t feel like enough for me. Let us not forget the adventures we have done, the countless tests we have completed, and most importantly some of the best friendships that we have ever made.

But this is it my friends, all of our lives are about to change. As we approach graduation and head our separate ways, I know there’s a bright future ahead of us and everyone has a dream in his life which they want to achieve. Future professionals like doctors, accountants, nurses, lawyers, engineers, architects, teachers are about to be born among us.

I have recently thought what job I would like to have in the future. It was a tough decision and question but I came to an answer. Since first year of high school to fourth year I was in the Special Science Class, and I will be taking STEM strand for my Senior High School in preparation for my college course. I want to become a Nurse . For me, it has got a lot of advantages over other jobs. Nurse is a profession which always be needed. People will always get sick or ill, we can’t change it but a nurse can help it. I know becoming a nurse requires long studies and a lot of hard work. But with all the sacrifices that my parents are exerting just to send us to school with my siblings, I don’t have reasons not to give my very best all the time. With firm determination, strong faith in GOD, good values and virtues, I assure I will have the best of life in the future, not because of the luxuries in life, but the richness of love and compassion to people and unending passion for God.

Whatever challenges and hindrances that we may encounter in the future, let us always be strong. Remember, we are strengthen by the trials we experienced as part of the Special Science Class for four years. Let us use it in every chapter of our lives… See you in the future fellas!!!

Future Me, 10 Years From Now

My dream is a future where I am happy, fulfilled, and living a life that is true to me. A future where I have achieved my goals and aspirations, and I am living my best life. In my dream, I see myself as a successful nurse.

As I close my eyes and envision my future, one particular image keeps coming to mind: myself as a full-fledged nurse, 10 years from now. It's the career that I've dreamed about for as long as I can remember. And I know that with hard work, dedication, and a passion for helping others, I'll achieve that goal.

I envision myself working in a hospital or a clinic, a place bustling with energy and activity. Perhaps I'll specialize in a particular field of nursing, such as pediatrics, or critical care. I might even go back to school and become a nurse practitioner, allowing me to diagnose and treat certain conditions.

To achieve my dream, I am aware that I will have to work smart and hard, continually honing my skills and receiving the necessary education and training. I will be striving to develop my creativity and problem-solving skills, focusing on innovation and delivering solutions that make people's lives better. I will also be working on my interpersonal skills to build deep and meaningful relationships with people.

I envision my dream future as one filled with passion and purpose, where I am doing work that I love, helping people and making a difference in the world. It is a future that is centered around social and environmental impact, always seeking to make a positive change in my community and the world at large. I will strive to be a leader and an inspiration to others, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and ambitions.

As I open my eyes and come back to the present, my heart fills with even more determination to make my vision a reality. I am excited about the journey that lies ahead, knowing that my chosen path will be a worthy one, and that the 10 years to come will be full of growth, dedication, and purpose. And who knows, maybe I might end up being more than just a nurse. My dream is a future where I am living to my fullest potential, making an impact in people's lives and the world at large. It is a future filled with hard work, dedication, and passion, where I am continually learning and growing, pushing myself to reach new heights, and inspiring others to do the same. I believe that with hard work, determination, and a clear sense of purpose, my dream future is not only possible but achievable.

The Unmatched Love of a Mother. Happy Mother's Day !

Our mothers have a big impact on our lives ever since we are born. They are the ones who give us food, clothing, and loving care. They are irreplaceable because of their unending love and selflessness. Mothers are our first teachers who lead us on our life's journey, impart important lessons, and direct us in the direction of virtue.

Every child's first love is their mother. She conceives us, raises us, shields us, and loves us without condition. Nobody can compare to a mother's love and care. She is a genuine lifeline, a beacon of hope, and a steadfast supporter as we travel through life. Our mothers serve as our first teachers, role models, and sources of inspiration as we mature. She imparts to us a variety of life lessons, morals, and she helps us navigate the ups and downs of life. No other relationship in the world compares to the love and sacrifices made by mothers. She is irreplaceable because of the dedication, care, and hard work she puts into her family and children.

Mother's Day is a unique holiday that is observed worldwide to honor our mothers' unwavering love, concern, and support. It is a day set aside to express our gratitude and admiration to the most significant women in our life. The real purpose of Mother's Day is to recognize our mothers for all of their sacrifices and hard work throughout their lives, rather than just purchasing them gifts or flowers.

On this day, we should thank our mothers for raising us in such a loving and supportive manner and for always being there for us when things get the toughest. The unwavering, limitless love of a mother. No matter what, mothers always prioritize their kids. Their tenacity and willpower serve as an example for us on how to live as strong, independent people.

A mother’s love knows no bounds. She never complains about her pain, her tiredness, or her own needs as she is always putting her children first. A mother always makes an effort to offer her kids the greatest possible life, sacrificing her own comfort and wants in the process. Her compassion and altruism motivate us to strive to be better people. The world cannot contain the depth and beauty of a mother's love. She truly embodies affection and tenderness. This relationship should always be valued and honored, and we should never only show our mothers our love and gratitude on Mother's Day. Mother's Day greetings, Mommy! I love you! <3 <3

"The Importance of Labor Day in Honoring Filipino Workers and Celebrating Their Achievements"

In the Philippines, Labor Day is a significant holiday because it honors the contributions that workers have made to society and the economy of the nation. The celebration, also known as "Araw ng
Manggagawa" or "Workers' Day," takes place on May 1 every year. The struggle and labor of Filipino workers are remembered on this day, which also recognizes their crucial contribution to the advancement and development of the country.

Labor Day is noteworthy in the Philippines because it provides a chance to acknowledge the difficulties and problems that workers confront. The holiday emphasizes the value of workers' rights, the demand for better working conditions, just pay, and accessibility to social and medical benefits. It also promotes awareness of problems including exploitation, discrimination, and job insecurity. The Filipino workforce is able to band together to lobby for their demands and rights through rallies, protests, and other events. It also offers a chance to reflect on and recognize the contributions made by labor unions and other worker advocacy organizations. Many of the rights and protections that workers have today were made possible by these groups, including the minimum wage and the eight-hour workday. Understanding the labor movement's accomplishments will help us better appreciate the value of collective bargaining and the ongoing need for worker advocacy.

As a result, Labor Day is a significant holiday that respects and recognizes the achievements that workers have made to the country. We can more fully appreciate the toil and dedication of our fellow citizens if we take the time to consider the history and accomplishments of the labor movement. Additionally, we may fight toward a more just and equitable society where every worker is valued and respected by bringing attention to persistent issues affecting employees and by taking the time to rest and recharge.

Mabuhay kayong lahat at maraming salamat !

"ILOCOS SUR NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL @121"

It is one of the most significant events that happens in ISNHS since it is the celebration of its founding. One of the highlights before a school year ends in ISNHS is the Foundation Day or High School Day Celebration. This year marks the 121st High School Day Celebration with the theme,  "Renewed Commitment in Defying Odds to Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity" . This year, they made this a 1-day celebration. There are programs and different activities done and held in this celebration.

The field demonstration is the main event of the day where every grade level prepared an intermission number to showcase. Before the actual dance or field demonstration, the selected students, teaching and non-teaching staffs of ISNHS joins the thanks giving mass held at the ISNHS gymnasium.

Always look back to the days where it all started. This celebration surely makes our high school
memories, memorable. This is why ‘high school life’ is the best.

"The Unyielding Strength and Resilience of Women: Celebrating the Indomitable Spirit of the Fairer Sex"

National Women's Month is observed each March to honor the contributions and accomplishments of women in culture, history, and society. On March 8, 1911, the celebration began as International Women's Day, It is a month-long commemoration of women's numerous achievements and efforts throughout history, both in the public and private spheres.

National Women's Month provides a unique opportunity to celebrate women's progress while also identifying areas where more progress is needed. It is a time for women to come together and recognize their roles in various areas of life, such as politics, education, economics, and social work. It also serves as a platform for women's voices to be heard and raises awareness about issues affecting women all over the world, such as domestic violence, the gender pay gap, and reproductive health rights.

National Women's Month serves as a reminder to honor the accomplishments of women and to keep pushing for a more fair society. Every part of society needs women, so it's necessary to recognize both their contributions and challenges. The month acts as a call to action to acknowledge the value that women already possess and to give them the tools they need to realize that potential. Let's continue to celebrate women and their accomplishments by striving for a more equitable and just world for everyone.

"Holy Week: The Ultimate Journey of Faith and Reflection"

Holy week is the most important time of the year for Christians around the world. It is the week leading up to Easter Sunday and is filled with religious ceremonies, services, and rituals. The Holy week begins on Palm Sunday, the day on which Jesus entered Jerusalem and was greeted by crowds of people who waved palm branches in his honor. The week ends with the Easter Sunday celebration, which marks the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

Christians observe Holy Week to reflect on Jesus' life and teachings, as well as to remember his sacrifice on the cross. The week culminates with the Last Supper, when Jesus gathered with his disciples to break bread and drink wine, laying the groundwork for the Christian sacrament of communion. The week also includes the Good Friday service, during which Christians remember Jesus' crucifixion and death on the cross. This is a solemn, but important, time for Christians to consider the enormity of Jesus' sacrifice and the love he demonstrated for all humanity.

The Holy week is a time for Christians to come together, to pray, and to celebrate. It is a time to reflect on the teachings of Jesus and to deepen one’s faith. During this time, Christians are encouraged to engage in acts of charity and to help those who are less fortunate. Overall, the Holy week is a time of great spiritual significance for Christians all over the world as it reminds them of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It's More Fun In Vigan : Ilocos Sur Tawid

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern Luzon. This year’s celebration was full of surprises. They invited many popular TV artist, conducted so many competitions. One of them was the street dancing competition where different provinces and other neighboring provinces showcased their cultures.

Kannawidan is an Ilocano term which means feast of heritage and culture. Kannawidan is an annual celebration of the province of Ilocos Sur. This festival of Ilocanos aims to restore the habit they have and showcase their inheritance from preceding generations. Kannawidan is derived from the Ilocano term "tawid" meaning inheritance.

Just like in the previously held Vigan City Fiesta, there is also a food and trade fair and the products are more diverse since it features different goods coming from the 22 towns of Ilocos Sur. There are also rides that people will enjoy. Additionally, Kannawidan is much more let's say extravagant in a way since artists come to the province and Ilocano fans have a chance to meet them up close.

Highlights of this festival are the Miss Ilocos Sur,  Kannawidan Street Dancing and Showdown. Miss Ilocos Sur is a pageant where beautiful young ladies represent their hometown and compete in different categories. The street dancing and showdown is where the representatives of towns face off for the different prizes waiting.

Every heritage and culture is to be known by many. Stories to be passed down to the succeeding generations to come and hopefully they can witness the inheritance that our ancestors have presented us.

EstyudaNTREPRENEUR 2022

The event "Likas na Talento at Kasanayan: Tugon a Katatagan at Pagharap sa Hamon ng Bagong Normal" had a successful opening December 2 2022. The goal of this event is to promote students' work and that tle is not an easy or minor subject only. Others may claim that the subject is as simple as playing in the sun, but this is not the case. Students in these subjects must learn how to cook, prepare traditional cuisines such as longganisa, carve furniture, and provide services such as beauty, wellness, and massage. Furthermore, the event's goal is to reveal and see who the talented and brave students who will participate in the said event are.

The main goal of the event was to help JHS students develop their entrepreneurial skills, and I believe that goal was met. Cookery students learned what it's like to work under pressure, just like chefs do. Furthermore, students in agriculture, beauty care, and wellness massage learned how to properly execute'sales talk' in order to sell more products. Meanwhile, ICT, CSS, CSA, Industrial Arts, and Carpentry students interacted with other students and demonstrated the various appliances that distinguish their chosen area of specialization. Indeed, EstyudaNTREPRENEUR is an event that creates a lovely learning environment for ISNHS students.

I learned a lot after attending the event. I discovered that this event is beneficial to student "entrepreneurs" not only because they earn money by selling, but it can also serve as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This experience has taught me that this event improved their physical and mental abilities. This means they are well-prepared for the future. I also discovered that we can send messages through one of their booths. With that, we took advantage of the opportunity to make fun of one of our friends.

Businesses can provide children with opportunities to be creative innovators while also earning money. Although an increasing number of states and communities have made it easier for young entrepreneurs to earn money, children and teenagers must still obtain the necessary paperwork to operate legally.

Second Quarter....DONE!

Looking back on my first reflection, I stated that I wanted to improve in various areas. It was undoubtedly another journey full of learning and challenges.

Second Quarter! New lessons, new people, new activities. As usual, stressed. Summative test, not enough days to discuss, thematic projects, and after the vacation, Second quarterly examination, and many more requirements to finish.

Unlike in the last quarter, it is easier compared to the last quarter. Like in the last quarter, all we need is time management and review. Managing your time is very important. Mix it with a good review and it’ll make a perfect potion for the second quarter.

Life is a continuous learning. In other words,  is a continuous process of your life. Every day we learn from many things like in our daily experiences. Life is about continuous learning, discovering new things, and growing. Successful people don't think they know everything. They are open to new ideas. And it’s just the right reason why students go to school. If we only depend on experience, there’s no such thing as discovery at all.

Moving on, I will continue to pursue my dreams by pushing myself to achieve my kind of success in which my parents would be proud of me.

Viva San Pablo, Viva Vigan!!!

Traditionally, the fiesta is a time of joyful celebration for Filipinos. Fiesta is about your family and your friends sharing time together.  January is one of the biggest month of Vigan where they celebrate their cityhood and to give honor to their dearest patron, St. Paul.

Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. The Vigan City Fiesta usually lasts for several days. It includes within the period the celebration of Kannawidan and the anniversary of the cityhood of Vigan, which is commemorated every January 27.

Biguenos from all over the country and even abroad return to Vigan to join their family and friends in the celebration of their fiesta. They are joined by thousands of visitors from other parts of the Philippines and other countries in enjoying the cultural shows, parades and street dancing. There are also food fairs, arts and crafts exhibits, as well as a visiting carnival.

Participants from the different neighboring provinces in the northern region are also sent to compete in the various games and activities, particularly the street dancing competition. This participation by other municipalities makes the Vigan City Fiesta not only a local event participated in by Vigan’s officials, but a national event participated in by other local public heads and national officials. Within the Vigan City Fiesta days, the Longganisa Festival is also celebrated.

Joining the celebration is quite exhausting but I guarantee that you’ll find yourself enjoying.

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern Luzon. This year’s celebration was full of surprises. They invited many popular TV artist, conducted so many competitions. One of them was the street dancing competition where different provinces and other neighboring provinces showcased their cultures.

I can tell the joy to experience. I enjoyed watching the colorful costumes of the street dancers. That was only one of the main events. What more if you’ve gone all of them.

Some traditions and cultures are slowly fading and younger generations unrecognized it and Kannawidan is a great way to bring these back and won't let it totally fade.

A Better Version of Myself

Happy New Year! I've made many promises in my life. Some  of them were accomplished, some of them were not. But either way, I will continue to finish all of them. There's nothing to loss if you try.

This year, I want to be a better student, a better daughter, a better friend. As a student, no more cramming, no more low grades. As a daughter, no more laziness. As a friend, be good always and just go with the flow. Hoping to achieve all. For myself, I want to be more responsible, more active in sports. I want to change my lifestyle, my life rather.

Myself first before others. Many understood what it means. You may use it the positive way or the negative way. Do not be afraid to challenge yourself. This year, try to be new, better, and be the best. Try to change your life for a better. For these upcoming years, you'll be meeting these new things, new changes. I've finally come to the realization that becoming a better version of yourself doesn't imply being perfect or knowing everything there is to know. Being a better version of yourself means understanding who you are, being able to own up to your mistakes, and rising back up after a fall. You must be capable of accepting criticism and advise without taking it personally. You must develop personally and take lessons from anything that comes your way.

Love, Family, God : Christmas

"'Tis the season to be jolly, Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la..." as the song goes. Every year, it is in our tradition to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. Here in the Philippines, we have the longest Christmas season starting from September up to December.

It is truly indeed the most wonderful time of the year where people only thinks about happiness. It is the season of giving. It's not the gift that we want to give but actually we want extend the warm greetings, our sincerest gratitude, and most important of all, we want to give love. The holiday season is different this year for all of us. I feel like it's odd to be "celebrating" after one of the toughest years for our country, but mentally and emotionally, I am really ready for that joy the holidays normally bring: closeness, family, tradition and new memories.

We cannot measure ones love by the their gifts, the price, and whatsoever. Back then I realized the true meaning of the saying, "It's better to give than to receive." Even though you don't have any money, gifts, or delicious food to eat at Christmas, as long as you have your family to accompany with and rejoice, I tell you, you have the best Christmas celebration ever. Merry Christmas!

Time To Shine Kids!

Children are considered as a form of God. Their innocence and good heart is all that is needed to light the mood up. In the Philippines, the Children’s Month Celebration is always celebrated during November every year. The Children’s Month Celebration’s objective is to give Filipino children access to a good education, healthcare, and healthy environment. The Philippines’ national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal once said “Ang Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan” which means in English “Youth is the future of the nation” and investing in children is key for the betterment of the next generation.

The main focus of the Children’s Month Celebration is to offer help to those children who suffered from abuse, poverty, natural calamities, and violence. children are supposed to be loved. We do not hurt them. It is important to teach everyone about non violent behavior . like teachers should do to their students. It is very much needed because of the contemporary exposure of children to violence is immense. In fact, in 2013 alone, there was a disturbingly high rate of children who suffered from sexual abuse and exploitation. By 2015, late Philippine President Benigno Aquino III made November the official Children’s Month Celebration in the Philippines under the Republic Act No. 10661.

The annual month-long celebration is one of the major avenues of Council for the Welfare of Children to promote the rights of the child and call the attention of various stakeholders on issues and concerns affecting children. It engages duty-bearers and right-holders to further their level of awareness on child rights issues and empower them to take actions to improve their lives and develop the culture of care and protection for, by, and with children. Let's highlight the need for a healthy childhood to ensure they can become happy, caring and connected adults.

A Roller Coaster Journey

For me, the first quarter of the special science curriculum is like riding a roller coaster. It has ups and downs in terms of the ease and difficulty of the Teachers' activities, projects, and quizzes. But giving up isn’t in my vocabulary. why would I give up if this is the only way for me to learn more?

This first quarter taught me a lot of new things, such as the current and how a light bulb works. and other information such as when email, the internet, and other things were discovered, Its primary focus was on the Internet, one of the most widely used forms of technology in today's society. I learned its origins and some of its fundamental concepts over the course of a few months, including its history, the people responsible for why the Internet is what it is today, its benefits, uses, and more.. About theories and the creation of the Philippine plate, about the different impressionist and expressionists and their Obra maestras.

Learning different lessons in a span of two months is difficult, we cannot  avoid misunderstandings, especially in our BE subject, but as time passes, I can easily understand the lessons by paying attention in our class, doing some advance reading about the topics given. I can’t wait to learn more, the fact that it is just the beginning of my Grade 10 journey. To our dearest teachers, thank you Ma'ams and Sirs for your time and sacrifices. We promise to bring these learning to a whole new level. This time, we will make you proud!

GO GREEN, BREATHE CLEAN!

Our surroundings are not only our home, but also everything that keeps us alive. It helps us survive by providing us with food, water, air to breathe, shelter, and other necessities. As a result, environmental stewardship should be ingrained in all of us.
